Trackplot take data protection seriously. We need to collate, process and store personal data for our Customer Organisations and the lone worker Users within those organisations. This information is vital so Trackplot can deliver the 24/7 Lone Worker Monitoring Solution we offer. We understand the need for robust data protection policies and procedures to reassure customers and prospective customers that we use their data responsibly.

Trackplot are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and are committed to honouring our obligations as a data processor and to comply with the best practice in data protection.

As you probably are aware the EU laws around data collection and use changed in 2018. The UK data protection regime is set out in the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), along with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force in 2018 and which also forms part of UK law.

The DPA 2018 is about ensuring people can trust businesses and organisations to use their data fairly and responsibly. The law applies if an organisation holds information about people for any business purpose and to any ‘processing of personal data’.

The ICO is the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest. The organisation covers the following:

  • Data Protection Act
  • Freedom of Information Act
  • Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)
  • Environmental Information Regulations
  • INSPIRE Regulations
  • The re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations
